The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Mahri Bashimova and the new head of the UNICEF Office in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna, the press service of the foreign ministry reports.
Bashimova congratulated Ratna on her appointment and wished her success in developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF. The parties noted the high level of current interaction and discussed prospects for its further expansion.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the UNICEF Country Program for Turkmenistan for 2021-2025. Key areas of the program include governance for children, health, nutrition, early development, social protection and inclusive education.
Diplomats examined opportunities to strengthen cooperation, improve the legal framework and implement joint projects in priority areas.
The head of the UNICEF Office expressed readiness to further deepen partnerships in all areas of mutual interest.
