Today Turkmenistan celebrates the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland. Warm wishes are addressed to military personnel and law enforcement officers, cadets of universities of law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan, for whom January 27 is a professional holiday.

At all times, the Turkmen people have respected and honored brave warriors who are faithful to the sacred oath, courageously and honorably fulfilling their military duty.

Guided by the priority tasks of the Military Doctrine, which is exclusively defensive in nature and fully consistent with the peace-loving foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan, the valiant defenders of the Fatherland ensure peace and tranquility in the country and the prosperous life of the people.

Increasing the power of the Armed Forces, strengthening the material and technical base and infrastructure, providing the most modern weapons and military equipment, increasing the spiritual, intellectual and physical readiness of military personnel, and social protection of their families always remain top priorities for the country's leadership.

The best reminder of past military days, as well as the strength and power of the modern Russian Armed Forces, is, of course, a military parade. There is no more revealing and colorful spectacle of military personnel marching in a single formation, who with their courageous appearance demonstrate the power of the Turkmen army.

These days, in honor of the holiday, concerts, celebrations, creative meetings, seminars, round tables, and demonstration sports performances by military personnel are held in every region of the country.

Competitions are organized in sports schools and military units, including in national sports. On this holiday, military personnel remember the great commanders who made a significant contribution to the history of the defense of the Turkmen state. These are: Gorogly Beg, Togrul Beg, Chagry Beg, Alp Arslan, Myalik sha, Sultan Sanjar, Bayram han, Sultan Jelaleddin and others, according to the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
