On January 16, 2024, a protocol was signed in Abu Dhabi between the governments of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates on mutual exemption from visa requirements. The document will come into force on February 16, 2024, reports gazeta.uz.
According to the protocol, citizens of Uzbekistan can visit the UAE without a visa for up to 30 days. To enter the country, they must have a valid passport, the validity of which must exceed the period of their intended stay in the UAE by at least 6 months.
The signed document is an important step in the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE. It will simplify and speed up the process of crossing the border for citizens of the two countries, and will also contribute to the growth of tourist flows and business cooperation.
In 2023, 119,5 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan visited the UAE. In turn, UAE citizens made 12,5 thousand tourist trips to Uzbekistan in 2023.
