The State Concern “Turkmenhimiya” and the Japanese corporation Kawasaki Heavy Industries signed two contracts as part of the visit of the Turkmen economic delegation to Japan, reports the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tokyo.

The contracts are aimed at implementing projects to service the world's first plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in the Ahal region of Turkmenistan.

This step will strengthen Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the energy sector and bring mutual benefits to both countries, the Turkmen diplomatic mission said in a statement.

As Turkmenportal previously reported, within the framework of the visit, a meeting of the aviation departments of Turkmenistan and Japan was also held, at which issues related to the establishment of direct flights between the countries were discussed. The signed Protocol of Negotiations paves the way for direct flights that will help strengthen Turkmen-Japanese business and cultural ties.

The Turkmen delegation also held a meeting at the Japan Export and Investment Insurance Agency (NEXI), where the parties discussed the implementation of economic projects and financial support. The Japanese side expressed its readiness to participate in the implementation of Turkmen projects and support them financially.

In total, during the visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan held 14 meetings and signed three documents, which emphasizes the high level of interest and willingness to cooperate on both sides.
