Xiaomi celebrates the billionth sale of a smartphone under the Redmi brand

Xiaomi's Redmi brand has reached a historic milestone by selling more than a billion smartphones in the last decade. This achievement was celebrated by Lu Weibing, a key executive officer of Xiaomi Group, who has played a crucial role in the success of the brand. Rambler reports this.

The history of Redmi began in 2013 when Xiaomi introduced a new product line focused on offering high-quality smartphones at affordable prices. This strategy proved successful and Redmi quickly became one of the most popular smartphone brands in the world.

In 2019, Xiaomi made a strategic decision to make Redmi an independent sub-brand, giving it more autonomy. This decision allowed Redmi to further expand its presence in the market and conquer new audiences.

To celebrate reaching the billion sales mark, Lu Weibing organized a special ceremony to thank key domestic supply chain partners who have played an important role in Redmi's journey over the past 10 years.
