Kalpana Balan from India officially holds the world record for the most teeth among women. She has 38 of them, six more than an ordinary adult, writes MIR 24.
Kalpana's supernumerary teeth started growing in her teens. They don't cause her pain, but they do cause inconvenience because food often gets stuck between them. The girl's parents were shocked when they saw that she was losing extra teeth and insisted on having them removed.
However, the girl did not dare to remove the extra teeth because she was afraid to undergo the procedure.
After receiving a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records, Kalpana Balan admitted that she was happy with her decision.
There is a possibility that the Indian will update her record in the future. She should have two more teeth coming through.
The record holder for the most teeth among men is Canadian Evano Mellone. He has 41 of them.
