Turkmen artist won the IV Tashkent Biennale of Applied Arts

Tapestry artist from Turkmenistan Altynjemal Baylyeva won the IV Tashkent International Biennale of Applied Arts, reports the website of the Turkmen Ministry of Culture.

The artist’s works Petroglifleriň syrlary (triptych) and Durmuş kerweni (polyptych) were awarded first place among the works of art presented at the event. The winner was awarded a cash prize and a diploma.

Representatives of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan also took part in the online event.

This year the Tashkent Biennale is held under the slogan “Globalization and preservation of national traditions: choosing a path”. It was organized by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan with the assistance of embassies and representative offices of foreign countries in the republic.

In total, 90 masters from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Italy, France, India, Egypt, Japan, Lithuania, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan took part in the exhibition.
