A delegation from the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) visited Ashgabat within the framework of a tour of Central Asian countries, reports the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation with Central Asian countries in the field of transport.
During the stay in Turkmenistan, meetings were held with representatives of a number of government departments responsible for the transport industry. Ways to strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in the field of transport, including railway and road, were discussed.
One of the meetings took place at the office of the “Turkmendemiryollary” Agency. The Korean side informed about the institute’s plans for possible participation in the implementation of various transport projects in Turkmenistan.
In turn, the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to KOTI for its interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of railway transport. Hope was expressed to continue fruitful cooperation with Korean companies in this area.
Representatives of the “Turkmendemiryollary” Agency also invited Korean companies to participate in major projects in the railway industry of Turkmenistan, in particular through investments in the modernization and electrification of the country's railways.
The delegation of the Korean Transport Institute also visited the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” Agency, where they met with the leadership of the agency. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and possible joint projects in the field of road transport.
