In Turkmenistan, 12 358 vehicles were transported by Ro-Pax type auto-passenger ferries from January to August 2023, which was an increase of 142.3% compared to 2022. The Maritime Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan reports this in its report for 8 months. The number of containers transported amounted to 2 773 TEU, a growth rate of 255.8%.
According to the report, the total volume of cargo transportation by ships of the Merchant Fleet was carried out by 128.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2022 and amounted to 1.509 million tons.
Freight turnover for January-August amounted to 626.355 million t.km, which is 25.4% higher than the same period in 2022, and the cargo turnover plan for January-August was fulfilled by 227.4%.
Passenger turnover for the reporting period amounted to 6.194 million passenger km and was 165.5% completed compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
Also, the volume of container transportation increased by 2.6 times.
