For the sake of the new iPhone, a Chinese woman gnawed through an anti-theft cable in a store

Police in China's Fujian province have arrested a woman who committed an extreme theft from an iPhone 14 Plus electronics store. She gnawed through the anti-theft cable that secures the smartphone to the counter with her teeth, reports with reference to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

The thief who damaged the store for 7000 yuan was caught 30 minutes later. She said that she really wanted to get a new smartphone, but her purchase was too expensive for her.

The kidnapping scene caught on the store's security camera quickly went viral on Chinese social media, the source said.
