The General Secretaries of the NOC of Turkmenistan Ata Akmamedov and the ROC Rodion Plitukhin discussed cooperation between the countries in the field of physical culture and sports via videoconference.
Plitukhin noted that the organizers of the International Forum of Young Olympians, which will be held in Moscow from June 1 to 2, will be traditionally glad to see the delegation of Turkmenistan among the participants.
“The Secretary General of the ROC announced that applications are being accepted for participation in the scholarship competition with subsequent training at the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) under the international program “Master of Sports Administration”. Representatives of Turkmenistan have previously been trained at RIOU, highly appreciating the quality and format of training”, - the ROC press service said.
The parties also expressed their mutual desire to update the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2018 between the Olympic Committees of the two countries.
Ata Akmamedov stressed that Turkmenistan is interested in strengthening sports and humanitarian ties with Russia, especially in winter Olympic sports.
The head of the NOC of Turkmenistan invited the ROC delegation to visit Turkmenistan in the middle of summer to sign an updated Memorandum of Cooperation and get acquainted with the country's sports infrastructure.
