The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea (with residence in Seoul) Begench Orazmyradovich Durdyev was simultaneously appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore, the relevant Decree was signed today by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, announced the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television.
Let us remind that Begench Durdyev was appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea by the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in July 2022. By presidential decree, he was given the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. In September 2022, Begench Durdyev presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for Protocol Affairs Ryu Jeong-hyun and officially took up his duties. In January 2023, Begench Durdyev presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Singapore were established in September 1996.
