The comet, discovered in January of this year in photographs taken by China's Zijinshan Observatory, has been named C/2023 A3, reported Mail.ru.
The distance from the Sun to comet C/2023 A3 is currently about 7,3 astronomical units (1090 million kilometers). At the end of September 2024, it will reach the point of least distance from the Sun. Then the distance will be reduced to 58 million kilometers, so C / 2023 A3 is already called the comet of next year.
