The memorandum on cooperation in the field of infrastructure was signed today in Tokyo by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yasutoshi Nishimura, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties noted the strategic, sustainable and long-term nature of the economic partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan, a vivid example of which are the successfully implemented large-scale projects for the construction of enterprises in the oil and gas and gas chemical industries.
The ministers discussed the possibility of updating the Roadmap for cooperation in the field of infrastructure in Turkmenistan and supplementing it with new relevant projects.
In addition, the interest of the Turkmen side in studying the Japanese experience in green and hydrogen energy and creating modern high-tech industries focused on the production of competitive products was indicated.
At the talks, attention was also paid to attracting small and medium-sized Japanese enterprises to do business in Turkmenistan and, accordingly, Turkmen ones in Japan.
Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov is in Japan on a working visit. The government delegation of Turkmenistan headed by him has already held a number of business meetings in Tokyo, and also took part in the 14th joint meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation.
On December 24, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will take part in the 9th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries of Central Asia and Japan.
