The next meeting of the Joint Steering Committee for the implementation of the Framework Program for Cooperation in the Field of Sustainable Development for 2021-2025 between Turkmenistan and the UN was held on Thursday in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the main achievements in the implementation of the Framework Program for Cooperation and the Roadmap in 2022 were considered.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov focused the attention of the participants on strengthening cooperation in the following areas:
- ensuring a “green” economy and presenting relevant concepts in this area;
- food security and climate change through the application of modern green technologies;
- digitalization and data management;
- further development of the education system with a focus on school and vocational education;
- strengthening health capacity;
- development of human rights institutions in Turkmenistan, in particular, the formation of specialized areas in the structure of the Commissioner for Human Rights;
- advanced training systems, including the consideration of the development and implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between diplomats and other civil servants within the UN.
In this regard, the UN Agencies, together with national partners, will intensify cooperation with an emphasis on the implementation of these areas.
The issue of preparing a Roadmap for the Framework Program for Cooperation for 2023 will also be considered, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
