The Russian Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory has reoriented export deliveries of its products to the markets of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. This was reported to TASS by the Deputy General Director of “Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory” Vyacheslav Dolgov.

“Today we practically do not supply our products to Europe and America. Deliveries began to decline back in 2014, and now they are practically non-existent. We are now working with other markets - Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. In addition, we ship some of our products to Belarus”, said Vyacheslav Dolgov at the “Russian Creative Week – Siberia” forum in Krasnoyarsk.

The company exports about 10% of its products. Vyacheslav Dolgov noted that scarves from Russia are in great demand in Turkmenistan.

“We produce about 60 thousand products every month. Turkmenistan is the leader among our export partners. Local women love to wear headscarves. We send about 2-5% of the total number of exported products there”, Dolgov explained.

Pavlovo Posad shawls are produced at a manufactory in the city of the same name, which is a couple of hours drive from Moscow. The enterprise was given the status of folk art craft in Russia. The shawl company was founded in 1795.

Every year, the manufactory produces about 1000 types of shawls, wraps, scarves, mufflers, stoles and tablecloths. Pavlovo Posad shawls and shawls are printed. This means that the pattern is not “printed on the printer”, but each color is applied to the fabric separately through a special template. A single pattern of a scarf consists of two dozen patterns - there may be more.

The company is developing its retail trade network. More than 180 specialized stores under the single brand “Pavlovo Posad Shawls” serve customers throughout Russia
