A cargo ship with equipment, food and New Year gifts for astronauts went to the ISS

More than 2,5 tons of cargo went to the International Space Station, reports “MIR-24” with reference to TASS.

The “Progress MS-21” transport cargo ship launched from the “Baikonur” Cosmodrome in the early morning of October 26. The spacecraft separated from the third stage of the “Soyuz-2.1” a launch vehicle and entered low Earth orbit.

On board, it carries 702 kilograms of fuel, 420 kilograms of water, 41 kilograms of nitrogen, 1357 kilograms of equipment and materials, personal protective equipment, medical and sanitary control, as well as clothing, food, consumables for a 3D printer and New Year gifts for astronauts from members their families and fans.

Russian cosmonauts report that they will open New Year's gifts just before the holiday.

The flight will last two days, docking with the ISS is scheduled for 05:50 Moscow time on October 28.
