The Governor of Paris, in order to save electricity, plans to reduce the time of Eiffel Tower illumination. As RIA Novosti with the reference to the publication Journal de Dimanche writes: “On Tuesday morning, Ann Idalgo will present a plan to reduce electricity consumption in Paris against the background of the energy crisis, the purchasing power crisis and the climate emergency.

Among proposed measures by the Governor of the capital will be an early turning off the illumination of the Eiffel Tower.” The Eiffel Tower is illuminated by 336 spotlights, giving it a golden shade. The illumination is turned off at 1:00, however, in accordance with the plan, spotlights will be turned off at 23:45, when the last visitors leave the landmark. It is noted that this measure is rather symbolic.
