Scientists from the Josep Carreras Research Institute in Barcelona analyzed people with similar faces. The study was based on a collection of photographs by Francois Brunel, who for more than 20 years has been looking for doubles, introducing each other and collecting their portraits.
DNA samples were taken from 32 participants in the experiment, and their photographs were processed using neural networks. After studying 19 thousand variations in the structure of genes, experts found a match in nine out of 16 pairs.
At the same time, not only height and weight were similar, but also bad habits and level of education. Scientists believe that the data of their scientific study will help forensic scientists in reconstructing the appearance of suspects from DNA, writes mir24.
