Automotive manufacturer Ford again makes a recall. This time, due to a transmission problem, the company is recalling 2,9 million vehicles from the North American market. We are talking about the 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect and 2015-2018 Edge, reports autonews.ru. The reason for the recall campaign was the fact that cars, after they are parked, can start to move spontaneously.

Besides that, while driving, the gearbox does not shift into the desired gear, which can lead to a decrease in speed and a potential emergency. Ford said it has six cases of property damage and four reports of injuries resulting from transmission malfunction.

At present time, the recall of the models listed above will be carried out in North America, but it is possible that the automaker will expand the recall campaign to other markets.

Let us note that this is the third recall of Ford vehicles in a week. The company previously returned 48 924 Mustang Mach-E built between May 27, 2020 and May 24, 2022, and 51 103 SUVs of 2021-2022 Bronco, to service due to door lock issues.
