At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reprimanded the Vice - Premier of Turkmenistan for Culture and Mass Media Myahrijemal Mammedova, the information program “Vatan” of Turkmen television reported.
The reprimand was announced “for undue performance of the official duties, shortcomings in the work”, the Order of the head of state says.
Commenting on his decision, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the tasks set to improve the work of the national television.
As the Head of state stressed, special attention should be paid to improving the quality of TV shows, which should reflect the positive changes taking place in society.
“In accordance with the motto of the year, it is necessary to reflect the selfless work of citizens aimed at developing the domestic economy, improving the level and quality of life of the people, as well as inspire Turkmen citizens to achieve the great goals outlined for the next 30 years,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
Having demanded to tighten control over the maintenance of cultural facilities in an appropriate state, the head of state said that he intends to return to the issues of the activities of the sphere supervised by M. Mammedova when summing up the results of the half-year.
