A merchant ship of the 13th century was found during the construction work on one of the streets of Tallinn. The ship, found at a depth of one and a half meters below the surface of the stress, is quite well preserved.

Archaeologists noted that the 24-meter vessel belonged to the Hanseatic League – a major political and economic union that united the states of northwestern Europe. The ship was built from oak logs, and animal hair and resin were used to process its seams. After dendrochronological analysis of wood samples, the experts came to the conclusion, that the merchant vessel was built in 1298. As informs mir24, the fate of the ship has not been determined yet and after research it will be sent either to a museum or to a special area for sunken ships in the Tallinn Bay.
