Today an equestrian marathon was held in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat, timed to coincide with the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse, annually celebrated on the last Sunday of April, announced the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television.
20 horses from the Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, the International Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex, the National Equestrian Center, the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and the State Border Service participated in the competition.
The distance of the marathon – is 60 kilometers with an intermediate finish in the middle, during which the horses underwent a medical examination (checking temperature, pulse and breathing).
A five years old bay Meshhur, led by a jockey and seis Orazmyrat Annayev reach the finish line first. The result of the winner - is 2 hours 41 minutes 58 seconds. The ward of the seis Hudayberdi Ashirov ten years old crow Garadoman with a rider Maksatmuhammet Melayev finished second with a time of 2 hours 42 minutes 23 seconds. The racer Gaiduv, who covered the distance in 2 hours 44 minutes 466 seconds crossed the third finish line. All winners represent the Ahal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of the Turkmenistan.
The awarding of riders who distinguished themselves in the marathon will be held during the upcoming celebrations in honor of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse on April 24.
