The seminar, dedicated to the regulation of the import of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and their equipment was held at the training center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
As reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, the issue of a system for issuing quotas to importers for the import of ozone-depleting substances, the national tasks and rules for licensing such activities were discussed at the seminar.
The regulation of the ODS import and products containing them into the territory of Turkmenistan is carried out by the agroecological department and customs together with the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary”, State Corporation “Turkmenhimiya” and the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of the country.
The Laws of Turkmenistan “On the Protection of the Ozone Layer” (2009), “On the Protection of Nature” (2014), and “On the Protection of Atmospheric Air” (2016) are in force to support such activities.
The seminar practiced the use of methods for detecting mislabeling and other inconsistencies during customs inspection of imported refrigeration and climate equipment into the country.
