Countries with the best and worst air quality has been named

In accordance with new study on global air pollution, no country met the World Health Organization (WHO) requirements in 2021.

According to WHO standards, the average values of hazardous PM2,5 particles in the air should not exceed 5 micrograms per cubic meter per year. In the analysis of data, collected in different regions, it was found that out of 6475 cities only 222 average air quality meets the WHO standard.

Data, in real time, was collected around the world using ground-based air quality stations.

As informs ferra.ru, the top ten countries with the worst air quality include Bangladesh, Chad, Pakistan, Tajikistan, India, Oman, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Iraq, and Nepal. At the same time, the level of air pollution in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan exceeded the norm by 10 times. New Delhi (India) was recognized as the most polluted capital in the world.

The New Caledonia, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Cape Verde, Saba, Finland, Grenada, Bahamas, Australia, and Estonia are included into the top countries and regions with the best air quality.
