More than a quarter of voters have already voted in the early elections of the President of Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is electing a new President. At the present time, the attendance in the elections was 25,24%, according to the CEC.

25,03% voted in Ahal velayat, 27,40% in Balkan velayat, 25,68% in Dashoguz velayat, 24,37% in Lebap velayat, 24,64% in Mary velayat and 25,78% of voters in Ashgabat city.

Voting in the early presidential elections started at 7 a.m. 2577 polling stations have been opened in the country. There are 41 polling stations outside the country.

More than 3 million people are included in the voters lists for voting.

It should be noted, that the presidential elections in Turkmenistan are direct. The head of state is elected directly by the people for a seven years period and takes office from the moment he takes the oath.
