The candidate for the post of the President of Turkmenistan from Democratic Party met with the voters in Ashgabat

On the 4th of May, a meeting of voters with the candidate from the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan for the highest state post, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, took place in the “Mekan” Palace of the capital’s Hakimlik, the State News Agency reports.

Thus, the meetings from velayats move to the main city of the country, where the intensity and the tempo of the election marathon, where participate 9 candidates for Presidency in Turkmenistan, are peculiarly felt.

The meeting at “Mekan” Palace was opened by A.Burunov, the head of the Department of the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli, Professor, member of the Political Council of the DPT.

Then the candidate's agent, A.Serdarov, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan familiarized the audience with the main milestones of the biography of Serdar Berdimuhamedov, noting the candidate's extensive experience in key sectors of the economy, in the field of legislation, in the foreign ministry, where he showed high professionalism, organizational and managerial skills.

The candidate for the highest state post who spoke next outlined his election program. The continuation of the reforms initiated in the country by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at further prosperity of the Motherland, increasing its authority in the international arena, and improving the welfare of Turkmen citizens was called a priority direction of state policy.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the implementation of the pragmatic strategy enshrined in the provisions of the program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052 adopted at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh on February 11 of this year. As noted, the priority direction of this strategy is the formation of a highly competitive national economy capable of ensuring the sustainability of long-term progress.

Speaking about priorities in foreign policy, the candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan stated that he intends to continue the course of increasing international cooperation, building relations with foreign countries on the principles of mutual respect and in the interests of all parties, relying on a neutral status.

Particular importance will be paid to increasing investment activity, attracting foreign capital investments into the Turkmen economy, and creating appropriate legal conditions for this.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted that practical steps will be taken to successfully implement national programs for the radical modernization of the material and technical base of the transport and communication complex. Much attention will be paid to the formation of a modern network of railways and highways of national and regional significance, air, sea and river transport, telecommunications systems, and the opening of domestic and international routes.

Among the main plans is the implementation of Ashgabat innovatory development roadmap.

During the meeting the candidate answered the questions related to the digitalization program implementation possibility, also, development of state – private partnership, healthcare and medical industry, education system, bringing up of the rising generation.

The deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov assured the attenders that if he is chosen for the highest state post, he will dedicatedly work in the name of further prosperity of the Motherland.

We remind that the early presidential elections of Turkmenistan will be held on March 12.
