Turkmenistan will provide more thorough inspection of imported goods

The President of Turkmenistan instructed Chairman of the State Customs Service Maksat Hudaykuliev to ensure a more thorough inspection of goods imported into the country during a meeting of the State Security Council held today, the State News Agency reports.

“Taking into account the growth of foreign economic activity and the volume of international cargo transportation, it is necessary to ensure a more thorough inspection of goods imported into the country and their full compliance with established quality standards,” the head of state said.

Focusing on the key areas of the Service's activities, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the need to apply the best practices of specialized structures of foreign countries to build the potential of transport and transit corridors running through the territory of Turkmenistan.

“It is important to keep in the center of constant attention the issues of modernization of the material and technical base of customs terminals, the use of modern methods in the work,” Berdimuhamedov said, addressing specific instructions to the head of the State Customs Service.

As previously reported, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has established a normal mode of functioning of mutual supplies and transit cargo transportation. The relevant process includes compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety.
