President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the Work Plan of the National Parliament for 2022, signing the corresponding Resolution.
Today, the Head of State approved the document at a meeting with the representatives of the two Chambers of the National Parliament, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.
Berdimuhamedov's speech identified the main directions of the Parliament's activities in the context of the political, economic, and cultural development of the country in 2022 and, in general, the implementation of the Social and Economic Program of the state for the next thirty years.
In particular, the necessity for further work of Milli Gengesh in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms, improvement of legislation and its norms in the fields of economy, social policy, science, education, culture, youth policy and digital system, as well as environmental protection, nature management, agriculture, in the field of foreign policy of Turkmenistan, local representative authorities and local self-government bodies, elections was emphasized.
Special importance of improving national legislation in such areas as protection of motherhood and childhood, provision of social protection to large and young families, children left without parental care as well as people in need of help was noted.
The country's Parliament is recommended to strengthen international and inter-parliamentary ties, legislatively promote the implementation of international initiatives of Turkmenistan.
The Parliament's Work Plan for the current year provides for holding various events, including conferences, exhibitions, forums, competitions, meet-the-artist events at the international and state level on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the establishment of the State Flag.
It is also planned to hold international events in 2022, including, jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the organization of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian Countries and the Russian Federation, as well as holding of Dialogue of Women of Central Asian Countries within the framework of this Forum that will be held under the Chairmanship of Turkmenistan this year.
