President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the composition of the Joint Turkmen-Tatar Working Group on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation from the Turkmen side, signing a corresponding Resolution today, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.
The document was signed "for the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation), as well as the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation."
Turkmenistan is a strategic partner for Tatarstan. In 2020, the trade turnover between this member state of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan amounted to $ 107 million. Kamaz, Tatneft, Kazan Helicopter Plant, and KER-Holding are actively cooperating with the Turkmen partners.
Turkmenistan also ranks first in the number of foreign students in Tatarstan – more than 5 thousand of them study there.
