Dashoguz State Power Plant will switch to a combined technological cycle using gas and steam turbines in the future. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated it during a working meeting held today in the northern region of the country, the information program "Vatan" of the Turkmen television reported.
As the head of state noted, the implementation of these measures will allow producing extra energy and significantly reducing volume of damage to the environment.
Dashoguz SPP is a new generation plant powered by natural gas. It has capacity of generating more than 1.5 billion kilowatt hours of energy annually and is equipped with two gas turbine systems with a total capacity of 254 megawatts per hour.
Currently, Dashoguz Power Plant supplies energy generated to other countries in addition to the consumers of the region.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the implementation of the Project of the high-voltage overhead power transmission line Akhal-Balkan-Dashoguz will set up another reliable source of energy that will give a powerful impetus to the social and economic development of the northern region of the country.
