In Italy, all fur farms where fur animals are raised will be closed in the near future. The Italian Senate's Budget Committee has banned the killing of animals for fur. This is reported by the Fashion Network portal.

Currently, there are only 10 such farms left in Italy, which will cease their work over the next 6 months, having received compensation from the authorities of 3 million euros. The law prohibits the breeding of fur animals, including minks, foxes, raccoon dogs and chinchillas.

Fur factories will also be closed with the approval of the Parliament. Thus, Italy will become the 16th country in Europe to ban the killing of animals for fur. And the first state to ban the sale of fur products was Israel.
