Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusraw Noziri, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the celebrations of the International Day of Neutrality.
Welcoming the head of state, the guest expressed gratitude for the time allotted for the meeting and the opportunity to participate in the International Conference "The Politics of Peace and Trust - the Basis for Ensuring International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development." Congratulating the leader of the nation on the International Day of Neutrality, Mr. Khusrav Noziri noted that the Organization for Economic Cooperation fully supports the peaceful and creative foreign policy pursued by the Turkmen leader, contributing to the strengthening of global peace and security, therefore this holiday is a triumph of Turkmen diplomacy on the world stage.
Thanking for the congratulations and kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he was glad to welcome the head of an authoritative international economic structure designed to promote the implementation of joint projects aimed at ensuring the well-being and prosperity of peoples, peace and progress in the region. The head of state stressed that our neutral state is always open for broad interaction with all interested foreign partners, including regional and international organizations, including the ECO.
Continuing the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for further partnership and its main vectors in the context of Turkmenistan's chairmanship this year, the implementation of the agreements reached, designed to further strengthen fruitful regional contacts between the ECO member states.
In particular, they discussed the possibilities of enhancing multifaceted cooperation in a number of areas that are relevant for the region, in particular, in the trade and economic sphere, industrial sectors, the field of introducing innovations and advanced technologies, in the area of investments.
The successful implementation of international projects initiated by Turkmenistan is largely due to the status of permanent positive neutrality. In this context, the head of state said that the current forum confirms its relevance, opening up new prospects and opportunities for all-round progress, strengthening and expanding fruitful international cooperation for the sake of universal well-being and prosperity in the modern era.
Expressing gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his support in promoting productive ties, filling them with new concrete content, the head of the international structure stressed that progressive humanity welcomes and fully supports the peacekeeping policy of Turkmenistan, which occupies key positions in Central Asia, and important international initiatives put forward by it. Noting the importance of the current conference, Mr. Khusrav Noziri expressed confidence that its results will contribute to the intensification of a mutually interested dialogue in strengthening peace and confidence, ensuring general security and stability, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
