Ashgabat hosted a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the ECO Member States

The issues of enhancing investment activity, creating free trade and economic zones, forming new economic corridors, establishing partnerships in the field of sustainable energy were discussed today by the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the Economic Cooperation Organization during their 25th meeting in Ashgabat.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the ECO countries considered the mid-term review of the ECO Outlook 2025, as well as the adoption of the Charter on the establishment of the ECO Center for Clean Energy. Also at the meeting were heard the annual reports of specialized agencies, affiliated bodies and regional institutions of the organization.

One of the main topics of the talks was the preparation for the upcoming 15th ECO Summit. In this context, an exchange of views took place on the draft Agenda of the Summit, the Ashgabat Consensus for Action, as well as documents expected to be signed during the current high-level forum.

Following the meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the ECO and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.
