On November 17, on an interactive online platform, an international conference “Main directions and opportunities for the development of tourism in Turkmenistan”, organized by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
Two thematic sessions of the forum were devoted to the role of entrepreneurship, education and innovation in tourism, as well as the main directions of historical, cultural and ecological tourism in our country.
The videoconference was attended by heads and representatives of tourism departments of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, as well as foreign public organizations and travel companies from Austria, Japan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, travel association “World without Borders”, etc.
Analysts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Association of Travel Agencies (JATA) joined the discussion and expressed interest in enhancing direct ties with Turkmenistan and organizing joint projects.
During the event, topical issues of the development of the industry in modern conditions were discussed. In this aspect, the key tasks of restoring and increasing the flow of tourists to the country, as well as in the field of unlocking the potential of historical, cultural and ecological tourism in Turkmenistan, are considered.
