Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Charymyrat Purchekov took part in the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, which took place today in an online format. This was reported on the website of the CIS Executive Committee.

The main topics of the meeting were economic recovery amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the climate agenda and the further development of cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

A significant place in the speeches of the participants of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments was taken by the theme of the development of transport corridors.

They mentioned some regional transport projects with third countries, which may open up "additional opportunities" for the organization's members. In turn, Ch. Purchekov informed that Ashgabat plans to hold a conference of transport ministers of landlocked countries in April 2022. He stressed that the work of Turkmenistan to connect the region of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea and the formation of an extensive transport network in the region "fits into the logic of ensuring the legitimate interests of the CIS countries that do not have direct access to the sea."

As a result of the meeting, 16 documents were adopted, including the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Member States on the Protection and Protection of Rights to Objects of Copyright and Related Rights in Information and Telecommunication Networks, the Concept for the Strategic Development of Railway Transport in the "Area 1 520" until 2030 ...

The next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government will be held in May 2022 in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, which is taking over from Belarus in the chairmanship of the Commonwealth.
