President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the Turkmen people, the Government, and on his own, sent heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Ismail Sabri Yaakob on his inauguration as Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Vatan news program of the state Turkmen television reported.
In his message, the Turkmen leader expressed confidence that the friendly relations developed between the two countries will continue to develop systematically in various directions.
Taking advantage of this pleasant opportunity, the Head of the Turkmen state expressed wishes of good health, happiness, and prosperity to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob as well as peace, progress, and prosperity to the friendly people of Malaysia.
The new 61-year-old head of the Malaysian government was appointed by King Abdullah Al-Mustafa after former Prime Minister Muhiddin Yassin resigned on August 16, saying that he would not be able to achieve a vote of confidence at the September session of parliament.
Ismail Sabri Yacob, who served as Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister in the last cabinet, is the vice-president of the United Malaysia National Organization (UMNO New), the country's largest political party.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new head of the Cabinet took place in the palace Istana Negara on August 21, 2021.
