At the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, work has been completed on the creation of a special university textbook, in which special attention is paid to the technologies of fish growing in ponds, pools, cages, preparation of fish feed, aeration of water in ponds and purification of reservoirs from weeds.

The textbook, on the creation of which a group of university professors worked, describes the experience of many countries where fish farming is developed with the use of modern technologies and machines.

The new textbook is a great support in improving the educational process, since students of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization, as future highly qualified specialists, study the issues of mechanization of pond and other types of fish farming.

For these purposes, the Department of Agricultural Machines has developed a standard and working program for the discipline “Mechanization of pond fish farming”.

Now in all velayats of the country, specialized fish farms have been created, which in their work rely on modern technologies for breeding and raising fish, mainly in ponds and pools. Moreover, especially valuable species of fish are grown and bred in the pools. Basin fish farming has a number of advantages, including the possibility of changing the flow rate, creating favorable temperature and hydrochemical regimes, raising fish all year round; full mechanization and automation of all processes.

To provide fish farms with highly qualified personnel at the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, the veterinary faculty has begun training bachelors in such a direction of university training as “industrial fish farming”, according to the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
