President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent today deep condolences to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in connection with the crash of the An-26 plane in the Kamchatka Territory, which resulted in numerous casualties, the “Vatan” news program of Turkmen television reported.

The head of the Turkmen state also expressed, on behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and on his own behalf, words of empathy and support at this difficult moment to all the relatives and friends of the victims.

On July 6, during a regular passenger flight on the Petropavlovsk - Kamchatsky - Palana route, communication with the An-26 aircraft crew was lost about 10 minutes before landing. Onboard there were six crew members and 22 passengers, including a child. All 28 people were reported to have died.

According to Russian media reports, the vechicle crashed on the top of the coastal cliff.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is working out three versions of the plane crash: unfavorable weather conditions, technical malfunctions of the aircraft, and piloting error. However, as the agencies write, referring to their own sources in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the version about the error of piloting in poor visibility conditions is considered as the main one.

In connection with the crash of the An-26 passenger aircraft in the Kamchatka Territory, a three-day mourning period has been declared.
