The School Sport Federation of Turkmenistan received the status of a permanent member of the International School Sport Federation (ISF).
This decision was made at the ISF General Assembly, which took place online in Belgium, the ISF official site reports.
In addition to Turkmenistan, the Bahamas, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan and Macau (PRC) also received ISF membership. The number of ISF members has increased to 132 countries.
The International School Sport Federation was founded in 1972 by representatives of national associations from 21 European countries. ISF headquarters is located in the Belgian city of Brussels. ISF is a member of the International Olympic Committee. The International School Sport Federation considers its main task to be the physical, intellectual, moral and socio-cultural development of schoolchildrens from 13 to 18 years old.
The School Sport Federation of Turkmenistan was founded in 2021.
