Today in Ashgabat, in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investments to the Oil and Gas Sector of Turkmenistan, timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, began its work.
The purpose of the forum is to expand the possibilities of attracting foreign direct investment in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, to intensify the regional dialogue on the further sustainable development of the energy sector.
The event is broadcast online to expand the audience.
The forum is attended by about 500 delegates from 42 countries, representing more than 160 international oil and gas and investment companies. In addition, leading experts from major international structures and financial institutions, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, ESCAP, International Energy Forum, CIS Executive Committee, Global Gas Center, Forum of Gas Exporting Countries and many others, participate here.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted in his Address to the forum participants:
“I am sure that the current International Forum will be of great importance in the exchange of experience between businessmen of our country with foreign partners, discussion of mutually beneficial projects, and the establishment of promising cooperation.”
The forum is organized by the State Concerns “Turkmengas” and “Turkmennebit”", the State Corporation “Turkmengeologia”, as well as the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan in partnership with the ES “Turkmen Forum” with the support of the British company GaffneyCline.
The forum will run until May 13.
