President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the leaders of the fuel and energy complex, as well as Deputy Chairman Shahym Abdrakhmanov in charge of this industry.
The head of state noted that there is still no positive dynamics in the oil and gas complex, no movement forward. The volumes of hydrocarbon production are not growing, and only half of the crude oil produced is exported.
At the same time, despite the previously given instructions, for a long time the capacities of oil refineries are used only by 40 percent.
As the leader of the nation pointed out, not enough attention is paid to attracting investments in the oil and gas industry, as well as the development of oil and gas fields in the Caspian. Work on the processing of raw materials is also proceeding slowly.
The head of state stressed that it is necessary to accelerate the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline. Work should also be carried out at a faster pace on other international projects for the export of natural gas.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the work of the Deputy Prime Minister and the heads of the complex supervised by him, the President of the country instructed to immediately take measures to change the current situation and eliminate all existing shortcomings, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Shakhym Abdrakhmanov, Deputy Chairman for Fuel and Energy Complex, who previously served as rector of the International University of Oil and Gas, was appointed on February 11, 2021.
