A new passenger service company “Ulag hyzmatlary” (“Transport Services”) will soon appear in Turkmenistan. It will be created “in order to establish intercity passenger traffic and provide high quality services,” Deputy Prime Minister Chary Gylyjov said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers today.
In accordance with his words, the proposals for the purchase of passenger buses and cars were studied by “Türkmen awtoban” AO.
In this regard, appropriate work is underway to provide high quality passenger services by the bus stations of the “Turkmenavtotransport” agency on a contractual basis, Ch.Gylyjov noted.
The vice-premier also stated that by the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, it is planned to commission a section of the Ashgabat-Tejen road, which is part of a high-speed highway to Turkmenabat under construction.
Having listened to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that high-speed highways and dozens of complex engineering structures are being built in the country through the efforts of domestic entrepreneurs, which are of great importance in the formation of a modern and highly efficient transport infrastructure.
Speaking about the need to create an effective structure for the provision of high-quality services to passengers, the leader of the nation emphasized that in the sectoral context, the importance of road transport is increasing.
Noting that the modernization of the technical base of road transport, in accordance with high environmental and safety standards, is a key aspect of the state socio-economic policy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered to provide all conditions for servicing passengers at the proper level, giving the vice-premier a number of instructions, the State news agency of Turkmenistan informs.
