The President of Turkmenistan demanded to bring the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex to full capacity

“Measures should be taken and conditions should be created to increase the production capacity of enterprises in the food, livestock, meat and dairy industries of the agro-industrial complex,” the President of Turkmenistan said at a working meeting on the development of agriculture held on Wednesday.

The head of state noted that last year the production capacities of individual enterprises of the agro-industrial complex were insufficiently used.

For example, the production capacity of flour-grinding enterprises was used by 52.4 percent, cotton-ginning enterprises - by 64 percent, enterprises for the production of grain products - by 67.6 percent, and enterprises for the production of butter - by 29.1 percent.

Compared to 2019, the indicators for the production of flour, vegetable oil, meat, eggs and growth in the number of sheep decreased.

At the same time, compared to 2019, last year the import of poultry meat into the country from abroad increased by 6.9 percent, eggs - by 85.8 percent, vegetable oil - by 93.2 percent, the official said. the material of the State News Agency, published today in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

“Therefore, as well as in connection with the current situation in the world economy, it is necessary to increase the volume of food production in the country, work to create food abundance in the domestic market,” Berdimuhamedov said.

The head of state ordered to prepare proposals and take all measures to reduce costs by introducing effective management methods and innovative technologies into the agro-industrial sector.
