The maternity protection departments of the Ministry of health and medical industry of Turkmenistan received new equipment from the United Nations population Fund (UNFPA): vacuum extractors and ultrasound machines. This reported on the Foundation's social media page.

According to the report, the equipment purchased within the framework of cooperation between UNFPA and the Ministry with funding from the government of Turkmenistan.

UNFPA regularly supports the country's Ministry of health and pharmaceutical industry in providing and coordinating maternal and perinatal health services in accordance with national standards. Thus, it promotes stable and equal access to quality medical care for women in all parts of Turkmenistan.

According to the UNFPA representative Office in Ashgabat, medical and diagnostic equipment for maternal health has been delivered over the past five years, including simulation equipment for studying maternity care, laboratory diagnostic equipment for measuring hemoglobin in the blood, a device for artificial lung ventilation, and ambulatory bags.
