Celebrations on the occasion of the harvest Festival, which embodies national pride in the results of selfless labor of farmers, for the generous harvests grown on the fertile Turkmen land, were held throughout Turkmenistan today. According to the Decree of the head of state, this holiday is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday of November.
In the capital, the main arena of festive events was the Ashgabat equestrian complex, on the decorated square of which the leaders of agriculture were honored.
Among the participants are members of the Government, heads of the Mejlis, representatives of departments, Metropolitan and velayat hyakimliks, public organizations, mass media, scientists, cultural figures, masters of arts, elders, and students.
This year, which is held under the motto "Turkmenistan is the birthplace of Neutrality", the country has grown and harvested a rich harvest of "white gold" – more than 1 million 250 thousand tons of raw material. Turkmen grain growers also won a remarkable labor victory by fulfilling the state order for harvesting 1 million 400 thousand tons of food grain. Producers of fruit and vegetable and melon products distinguished themselves by high indicators. The achievements of farmers have become a worthy gift for a significant date – the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of the Motherland.
On the eve of the harvest Festival, an award ceremony was held in the conference hall of the Turkmen agricultural University on behalf of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for tenants, cotton growers, machine operators, agronomists, breeders and other agricultural specialists who make a worthy contribution to the development of the country's agro-industrial complex.
In accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, state awards were awarded to the industry leaders who achieved the highest results this year.
The next day, the celebrations continued at The Ashgabat equestrian complex, where an exhibition of achievements in various areas of the country's agro-industrial complex was organized at the main entrance in honor of the glorious work of masters of high yields. The expositions prepared by the relevant departments present products of the cotton-growing, cotton-processing, grain-growing industries, animal husbandry, food and textile industries, elite varieties of seeds, samples of advanced agricultural machinery loaded with grain and cotton.
The velayats of the country also opened festive pavilions at the exhibition, showing horjuns of the new "white gold" harvest, as well as wheat ears, freshly baked tortillas in tamdyr, delicious pishme, and other national delicacies. There is a wide variety of melons, fruits, vegetables, berries and fresh herbs that are currently sold in shopping centers and markets in the country.
So, exposure velayat decorated the stands with seeds famous varieties of melons "Vaharman", "Garrygyz", "Gyzylgulyabi", watermelons, “Jeyhun”, "Serdar", "Dishim", pumpkin "Palov kadi", "Dash kadi”, “Duvdibisher”.
Here, Turkmen sculptors, painters, and jewelers presented their best works dedicated to the work of domestic farmers and their beloved Homeland, thus organizing a colorful creative part of the exhibition. Participants of the celebration watched with interest the work of novice artists who made bright sketches, trying to fully reflect the generosity of the Turkmen land and the beauty of their native land.
The heartfelt atmosphere of the holiday, imbued with the spirit of national culture, traditions, customs and rituals, was enhanced by the performances of bakhshi’s, palvans participating in goresh wrestling and various national games, as well as students of sports schools of the country.
On the big stage – pop singers and creative teams of the capital, whose enthusiastic performances glorify the initiator of progressive Changes-President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large-scale transformations taking place in the Motherland.
Literary and musical compositions performed by dance groups and folk groups were dedicated to the workers of the fields, caring and diligent owners, who have been cultivating generous harvests from century to century.
The audience applauded the performers of the Turkmen dance kushtdepdi, which contains not only beauty and harmony, but also life-affirming meaning. As you know, in 2017 kushtdepdi was included in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
The audience listened to the welcome Address of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the brave workers of agriculture, masters of high yields, the people of independent neutral Turkmenistan, which notes the deep meaning of the holiday at the state level.
In his message, the leader of the nation stressed that the Turkmen land responds to the selfless work of daikhan with rich harvests of agricultural crops, which contributes to strengthening the country's food security.
The welcome Address of the head of state was met with thunderous applause.
On behalf of the employees of the agro-industrial complex, the President of Turkmenistan was presented with a magnificent Akhal-Teke horse.
The harvest festival at the capital's racetrack continued with horse races organized in celebration of the national celebration. According to the results of the races, the winners were awarded well-deserved prizes.
The participants of the celebration accepted a letter of gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed their sincere gratitude to the leader of the nation for the constant attention and care for the workers of the agricultural sector and assured that they will make every effort to further develop the country's agro-industrial complex, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
