President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved resolution No. 1 of the General meeting of shareholders of the joint-stock commercial Bank "Halkbank" dated October 14, 2020 on the election of Arabov Myrat Sapardurdyevich as the Chairman of the Board of this Bank. The relevant Decree was signed by the head of state today, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.
Recall that at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held a week ago, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved a proposal to transform the state commercial Bank “Halkbank” into an open joint-stock company.
Turkmenistan is working to organize the securities market, improve the activities of banking institutions and gradually transform them into joint-stock companies. These steps correspond to the tasks outlined in the country's social and economic development program for 2019-2025 and the state program for the development of the banking sector for 2011-2030.
