In 2020, exports of petrochemical products produced in Turkmenistan to Georgia increased significantly.
Over the past 9 months of this year, Georgian partners purchased 55.9 thousand tons of diesel fuel in Turkmenistan, providing 23% of Georgia's imports. Thus, our country entered the top four in terms of supplies of this type of fuel.
According to the Union of importers of petroleum products of Georgia, the supply of diesel fuel increased by 11.5% to 419.4 thousand tons. Azerbaijan accounted for 38% of the total volume of diesel fuel imports (159.3 thousand tons). Russia received 99.5 thousand tons of diesel fuel (23.7%), Romania — 56 thousand tons (13.3%), the rest was supplied from Turkmenistan and other countries.
According to the National statistics service, in January—September, gasoline and diesel fuel in Georgia fell by 16.6%, and for the year (from September 2019) — by 17%.
