As part of the UN vaccination program, “Volga-Dnepr” group and Scan Global Logistics delivered 180 cubic meters of vaccines to Turkmenistan. According to the press service of “Volga-Dnepr” airlines, the cargo consisted of diphtheria, hepatitis and BCG vaccines, and other medical products that will help maintain routine immunization of the population in the country.
“Volga-Dnepr” group performed two Charter flights from Leipzig (Germany) to Turkmenistan during August-September. Volga-Dnepr was able to demonstrate the possibility of a "Cargo supermarket" in action by organizing Charter flights operated by “Volga-Dnepr” airlines on Board the Il-76TD-90VD and “Atran” airlines on Board the Boeing 737-400SF.
Detailed study and planning of loading two cargo planes included preparation for loading at night, as well as building the temperature regime. Specialists from “Volga-Dnepr”, “Atran”, Scan Global logistics and the ground handling agent in Leipzig carefully thought out the loading plan, which helped to save time and coordinate the work of all services on site.
The consolidated cargo was delivered from different parts of Europe to Leipzig airport ready for shipment, and the “Volga-Dnepr” and Scan Global logistics teams were able to appreciate the equipment and cargo infrastructure of the cargo hub in Leipzig and the technical capabilities of the ground handling agent Port Ground.
