A meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek Business Council was held

A meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek Business Council was held today with the participation of the chambers of commerce and industry of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The meeting was held in a videoconference format according to uzdaily.uz.

The Chairman of CCI of Turkmenistan, Dovletgeldy Rejepov and CCI of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov was the chairmen of the national parts Business Council.

From Turkmenistan participated: Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ya. Mamedov, head of the Department of agrarian reform and the global experience of the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection of Turkmenistan G. Guseinov, Director of pharmaceutical enterprises "Tenekar", Association "Turkmensenagat" the Ministry of health and medical industry of Turkmenistan S. Akgaev and other representatives of responsible agencies, and representatives of business.

From the Uzbek side took part the Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan A. Kuchkarov, Chairman of the Association of exporters of Uzbekistan M. Umarov, head of Department of the Ministry of investment and foreign trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan N. Hoshimov, chief of Department of the Ministry of foreign Affairs A. Hadjaev and a number of sectoral ministries and departments and entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, it was noted that in the course of bilateral cooperation over the past 2 years alone, about 70 representatives of Uzbek companies participated in the national exhibition "Made in Uzbekistan" in Ashgabat, an exhibition of Turkmenistan's commodity producers was organized, as well as a joint Uzbek-Turkmen business forum in Tashkent.

The Council considered issues of further cooperation in the field of industry and transport, textile industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, as well as in the field of agriculture.

It was noted that due to the difficult situation in the world caused by a coronavirus pandemic, there is a need to strengthen and maintain business relations between the two countries through the search for business partners in the format of "B2B".

The Turkmen side highly appreciated the pace of socio-economic development of Uzbekistan for the last three years and the activity of countries in expanding trade and economic relations with foreign countries.
It should be noted that 148 enterprises with the participation of Turkmen capital, 66 joint ventures and 88 enterprises with 100% Turkmen capital operate in Uzbekistan.

Recall that in February 2019, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed an Order approving the proposal of the chamber of Commerce and industry of Turkmenistan to create the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan Business Council under the Chamber in the appropriate composition from the Turkmen side. The document was adopted "in order to further develop trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, to promote the expansion of mutually beneficial contacts between the Turkmen and Uzbek business circles".

The business Council is a platform for discussing and implementing potential investment projects in various fields, and promotes trade between the two countries.
